Podcasting away!

For our podcast assignment, on Tuesday July 7th Yolonda and I interviewed Elena Yunusov, a communications director for Ombudsman Ontario. She has an interest in social media for non-profits and writes about it on her blog called Communicable (www.communicable.ca).After a few back-and-forths about date, time and location, Elena and Yolonda and I decided to meet at the Starbucks on the corner of Bay and Queen Street West—probably one of the busiest Starbucks in the downtown core! Not knowing what…See More

The way social media should be used, as shown by Lululemon

When I interviewed Evelyn So for the podcast assignment, one of my questions was whether she could recall a social media campaign that was highly successful. She mentioned Lululemon Athletics, which piqued my curiosity and compelled me to find out what they were doing in the social media sphere.Indeed, these guys are doing an amazing job using social media to reach out to their target audience. I’m quite impressed – their social media tactics seems less like a marketing campaign and more like…See More

The Podcast Experience

I had a great time getting together with Vanessa and Teresa to interview Emily Koenig of Manifest Communications. Emily is a graduate of the Corp. Comm. and PR program and also a close friend of mine. I have always been fascinated with the organization that Emily works for and this experience not only open my eyes in regards to Manifest's effort but also gave me the opportunity to learn more about Emily and her role in the company.

While I always knew Emily to be incredibly… Continue

Social Media Brings Me Closer to My Passion

Coming from an art background, I love to know everything that's going on in the art world at all times. Art is my passion. It's important to me to be actively involved in arts communities. It only makes sense for any community arts group, big or small to make use of social media. Artists and art collectives often work as independent units, and are not necessarily linked… Continue
